Title: A beautiful Lie
Author: Bwitched83uk (email@example.com)
Summary: Jared knows that what he and Colin share is nothing more than a beautiful lie, or is it?
Beta: My darling Beth.
Feedback: Makes Jared and Colin horny baby.
Jared was awoken by the feel of smooth lips trailing down his shoulder. He smiled and nuzzled his face into his pillow. He didn't want to wake up; he wanted to stay in this sleep forever. He wanted to pretend that today wasn't happening.
The lips didn't stop at his shoulder, they made their way over to his back, leaving little tender kisses.
"Mmm," Jared moaned, reaching out his hand for the man next to him.
"Wake up," Colin said softly, his mouth moving to Jared’s ear.
"Don't want to," Jared said petulantly.
Colin chuckled deeply and rubbed his cheek over Jared's bare shoulder blades. "I'll have to walk to the airport then."
Jared closed his eyes tighter. Why did Colin have to say that? Why couldn't they pretend for just a little longer that they could stay this way forever?
Reluctantly, Jared opened his eyes and looked up at his smiling lover. He sighed and stroked Colin's chest. "I'm not ready to say goodbye," he whispered.
Colin's smile disappeared. Jared sounded as though his heart was breaking. He leaned down and pressed his lips against Jared's softly. "It's not goodbye. It's not the end Jare."
"Yeah? Then what is it?" Jared asked sitting up and pulling his knees up to his chest, making him look like a little boy.
"It's_ its, `see you next month,'"
Jared didn't say anything. He was seriously seconds away from suggesting he pull out his next movie in order to follow Colin around wherever he went, but realistically he knew that wouldn't work, for either of them. "Next month," Jared agreed.
"I um," Colin began, looking down hesitantly. "I thought maybe you could come over for Christmas, to Ireland. Kim's agreed to let me have James."
Jared looked at him and smiled lovingly. "I'd like that."
Colin grinned, relieved and got off the bed. "Right then. We should get dressed if I'm going to make that plain."
They stood silently for a few minutes, neither one of them knowing what to say. There was so much left to be said and yet they both knew it wasn't needed. They knew how they felt about each other and that was all that mattered.
"Come here," Jared finally said, wrapping Colin in a tight embrace. He pushed his face into Colin's neck and kissed the soft skin there discreetly. "You'll call me?"
He could feel Colin nodding and he just held on tighter.
With one last squeeze Jared let him go only to realise that Colin was holding him just as tight. Colin pulled back slightly and brushed the hair out of Jared's face. "I…" He shook his head and leaned his forehead against Jared's.
A voice came over the speakers, the last call for Colin's flight. The two men broke apart and Colin kissed Jared on the cheek. "I'll call you," he promised.
Jared nodded and watched as his lover walked away from him. He watched until Colin reached the gate. He turned back, with a beautiful smile on his face and waved at Jared before leaving.
Jared made it back to his rented truck before he let the tears come. He closed his eyes and rested his head on the steering wheel. He would see Colin soon, in just three weeks, so why was he sitting here crying?
He started when the cell phone in his back pocket began vibrating. He reached for it and opened it, putting it to his ear without bothering to look at the display.
"Hello," he said roughly, whipping at the stray tears.
"I said I’d call," Colin voice said. Jared's face broke out into a huge smile and he laughed, still whipping at his tears.
"I forgot something," Colin said, keeping his voice soft so as not to be overheard.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" Jared asked, leaning back in his car seat.
"To tell you that I… I love you, Jared."
Jared squeezed his eyes shut tight as the tears came back again. He held the phone tightly in his hand and sobbed.
"I should have said it a lot sooner," Said Colin.
"Doesn't matter," Jared said through his tears. "You said it."
There was silence for a few moments before Colin decided to break it in his usual way. "Are you crying, you great Nelly?"
Jared laughed and whipped at his tears. "I love you."
"You must, no one else would put up with me_ Look I really have to go now, or I'll miss me flight."
"Ok," Jared said, now feeling much better about their separation.
"I'll call you tonight," Colin said. "Bye Hephaistion."
Jared smiled and nodded, even though Colin couldn't see him. "Goodbye, my Alexander."
Jared shut his phone and put it on the dashboard. He buckled his seat belt and turned on the ignition, smiling to himself as he drove off.
Awwww! Tis' such a sweet ending but I want more! =D Great job with this story.
Thank you darling. I will be writing a one shot sequel about their Christmas together :)
I had been following this series and had reserved my comments for the last. Your fic was moving and extensively pictorial in the descriptions of people, events and imagery. It started off like a small POV with Jared talking about Colin and their 'beautiful lie' relationship before you switched to the third person. I am glad you did that because that brought out the essence of the fic, POV's or something like that from both men. After all one sided is limiting.I particularly loved the way Colin went through his dilemma of staying carefree and committing himself, but I knew he was committed when in the second chapter he said, "Pussy comes and goes but mates are forever."Brilliant work, I felt some chapters like the one in which Shannon talks to Colin or Colin talks to Eamon could have been longer and explored feelings a bit more, but then as an active author I realize every fic is but the author's own way of handling things, so I respect your way of skipping some addtional details. It is a great idea to end the story with an epilogue and a better idea to do a sequel (I hope soon), summarized the affair beautifully.Love from Mantra
Thank you for your nice feedback, I'm really glad you have enjoyed my story.I will be writing the one shot sequel soon hoefully, once i have the time.:)
I totally second Mantras comment. I have read this story from the very beginning and I love the way how you've tranfered 'A beautiful lie' into 'A beautiful verity". How Colin struggled through his emotions. How Jared tried to hold on to 'reality'. How Shannon and Eamon played eye-openers. Great story. I'm so looking forward to the sequel.
thank you, I'm really glad you liked it. Hopefully the sequel will be done before I go into labour otherwise you might not get it for a few weeks.
Aaaw, that was Beautiful! I'm looking forward to that sequel. ^_^
Thank you darling :)
OH my god. This was so beautiful (i've red the whole story earlier)! god im dying, this was THAT awsome.awwww.
One of the best stories I've read! And one of the very first, when I explored that community and went later to the other Journey's, too! Because I'm addicted to all that cute Alex/Phai and Colin/Jared stories!!! Now, I'm again found that story and still cried again, because it still moved me! ♥C
